Code of Conduct

Liverpool and Merseyside Peer Rope is dedicated to providing a safe and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.

The event venue may also have additional rules in place, which will be made clear to participants when they first attend. Participants are responsible for knowing and abiding by these rules.

Harassment includes:

  • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, neurodivergence, physical appearance, body shape, age, race, or religion.
  • Unwelcome comments regarding a personʼs lifestyle choices and practices.
  • Deliberate misgendering or use of ‘deadnames’.
  • Violence and threats of violence, including intimidation, stalking or doxxing.
  • Deliberate outing of any aspect of a personʼs identity without their consent.
  • Wilfully ignoring another personʼs safeword or equivalent.
  • Making deliberate, inappropriate physical contact with another attendee.

We will prioritise marginalised peopleʼs safety over privileged peopleʼs comfort.

Consequences

Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, we may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from future LMPR events and identification of the participant as a harasser to other community members.
